Dental Exam

Your dentist will do a full dental exam at your first appointment, which will include a check for cavities, injured teeth, and gum disease.

Oral cancer screening

A visual examination of the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums is performed, as well as a search for lesions and symptoms of oral cancer.

Gum disease evaluation

Periodontal screening, which may entail measuring the distance between teeth and gums to look for indicators of gum disease.

Examination of tooth decay

Visual examination of all tooth surfaces for evidence of decay. This may include the use of specialist instruments to aid in the detection of cavities by a dentist.

Examination of head and neck

Feeling the head and neck area for symptoms of infection, illness, or other abnormalities, particularly the temporomandibular joints (TMJ).

Examination of existing restorations

Check current fillings, crowns, etc.

Examination of x-rays

This is necessary for detecting any concealed indicators of degradation or sickness. Dental radiographs are taken on a regular basis depending on a patient’s dental history and risk of tooth decay.
