We think that preventative care and education are the keys to excellent oral health as a practice. We focus on comprehensive examinations, which include examining the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, and obtaining X-rays as needed. Routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride are also known to help prevent dental disease. We're worried not only about the aesthetics of your smile but also about your overall health. A review of your medical history can assist us in staying informed about your overall health, new medications, and conditions that could affect your oral health.

Dr. Sajid (Saj) Syed

After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan in 2003, Dr. Syed began practicing dentistry in Estevan, Saskatchewan, where he worked for two years before moving to Ontario.

After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan in 2003, Dr. Syed began practicing dentistry in Estevan, Saskatchewan, where he worked for two years before moving to Ontario.

In 2005, Dr. Syed purchased a practice in Dunnville, using his unique style and service improvements to maintain the quality care the Dunnville community has always enjoyed.

Dr. Syed continued to expand his business, purchasing Pavillion Dentistry in 2009. He is dedicated to providing the residents of St. Catharines and surrounding communities with excellent dental care and personalized service.

In 2021, Dr. Syed purchased Lakeside Dental in Stoney Creek. He and his family now live in Stoney Creek, where they love being part of a smaller community.

Dr. Syed enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a special interest in complex cases like dental implants, full mouth reconstruction, and orthodontics. He has a passion for performing life-changing treatments that increase a patient’s quality of life by providing them a fully functional smile.

Recently, his dedication and hard work were recognized when he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, the highest level of competency in implant dentistry. He is also an Associate Fellow and a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Aside from being a big promoter of continuing education, Dr. Syed also mentors other general dentists wanting to enhance their clinical skills in implant dentistry.

Outside of work, Dr. Syed loves spending quality time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys staying fit and playing tennis.

Dr. Hiba Harraq graduated from the dental program at Western University in 2017. Shortly after graduation, she moved back to join her family in Fredericton, New Brunswick and practiced dentistry for three years. In 2020, Dr. Harraq and her family moved back to Ontario to be close to relatives and friends.

In her spare time, Dr. Harraq enjoys spending time with her son and husband at their home in Waterdown. They enjoy camping, baking, hiking and other outdoor activities. Dr. Harraq enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a great passion in pediatrics, along with a caring and compassionate approach for special needs kids. She is pleased to offer services in both English and Arabic. She is a wonderful addition to our dental team.

Dr. Jamal Alshakiry has been practicing dentistry for more than 20 years. Soon after his graduation in 1997, he followed his passion to excel in Endodontics and Oral Surgery. Dr. Alshakiry has been committed to continuing education and clinical excellence. As a very passionate dentist, he enjoys all aspects of dentistry and proves it through his work. His expertise compasses most aspects of general dentistry.

Dr. Alshakiry worked as a dentist for a United Nation Agency for 7 years. He is a certified Canadian Dental board member, as well as a member in the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and the Ontario Dental Association. Dr. Alshakiry also enjoys his family life with his wife and three children and he is a strong chess player.

Angelina, our Business Coordinator, has been with Lakeside Dental for 7 years and has built wonderful, trusting relationships with patients. Angelina’s jovial character puts our patients at ease and she is always going above and beyond when she can to make your appointment a comfortable one.

When Angelina is not working, she loves to spend time with her family and taking long walks with her husband and their dog, Romeo.

Shevon

Shevon brings 16 years of experience in the dental field with her to her role as Treatment Coordinator. Shevon started her career in dentistry as an assistant for 5 years and moved on to administration. With her foundational knowledge as an assistant, Shevon fills her role as treatment coordinator very nicely. Recently moved to Hamilton from the GTA with her two children, Shevon loves spending time with her children and is looking forward to exploring the city.
